Column Aquarium Maintenance Instructions

The following points should be noted for day to day care of your aquarium:

•  Feeding the fish once a day only
•  Cutting down number of hours the light is on
•  Removing algae with a cleaning magnet

The most common mistake people make is overfeeding and this is in fact the biggest cause of fish death. Keep it to once a day, giving enough for the fish to eat within 2 minutes without too much floating down to the bottom.

To reduce algae formation, your aquarium is ideally situated in a shady room or position, away from draughts, radiators or direct sunlight. DO NOT put your aquarium in a conservatory. Only use the light towards the end of the day and switch off when you go to bed. Remove any algae as it appears with a cleaning magnet, if left over a long period of time it will become more difficult to remove.
